About us
Portrait
The Romans were already using Lake Walen as a passageway 2000 years ago. Until the 19th century, shipping on the lake had many exciting stories to tell: Wars, shipping disasters, but also many successful milestones. In 1954, the company "Schiffsbetrieb Quinten" was founded, which was transformed into a family-owned public limited company in 1984. From then on, the company was called Schiffsbetrieb Walensee AG and was based in Murg. In 2004, Schiffsbetrieb Walensee AG was sold to Walensee Event AG, also based in Murg, but retained the name.
As a private company, we now operate six passenger ships and one cargo ship on Lake Walen. In addition to year-round scheduled services, we also offer our customers individually bookable boat rentals, public event cruises and freight transportation. With around 30 motivated employees during the main season, we do our best every day to offer our guests an unforgettable experience on the turquoise-blue Swiss "fjord".
