"OK:GO" Association for the Promotion of Barrier-free Switzerland

The OK:GO initiative makes information on the accessibility of tourist offers publicly available. The aim is to meet the needs of a diverse society and make it easier for people with disabilities in particular to participate. Growing target groups such as senior citizens and families with small children should also be able to travel independently. On our website you will find all information on the accessibility of our ships and relevant details for each landing stage on Lake Walen.

Our projects

Digitalization for sustainable shipping

Together with the OST University of Applied Sciences, Shiptec AG and J+A Informatik AG, we are developing digital assistance systems for inland shipping in the DaMaFo - Data-driven manoeuvre and fleet optimization project. The aim is to make our ship operations more efficient, resource-saving and sustainable - regardless of the year of construction or propulsion of the ships. In this way, we use digitalization as a lever for greater sustainability on Lake Walen.

The focus is on three applications: More efficient berthing maneuvers through real-time data and recommendations for action, smart fleet planning depending on weather, demand and energy consumption, and assistance systems for steamships that combine tradition with modern technology (continuing for other shipping companies)

Further projects and outlook

  • Decarbonization strategy
  • Employee participation
  • Safety in the operation and use of materials
  • Shipyard construction incl. photovoltaic system on the shipyard building, energy management (in planning)
