Murgbach waterfall

The Murgbach waterfall impresses with its red Verrucano stone and green surroundings. It is located in the largest chestnut forest north of the Alps and can be reached in 30 minutes via the chestnut trail.

At 12.5 meters, the waterfall at Murgbach is not the largest of its kind. But its appearance is all the more special: the red Verrucano stone and the intense green of the surrounding vegetation give the Murgbach waterfall an almost exotic flair. The largest chestnut forest north of the Alps, where the waterfall is located, also contributes to this. The Murg waterfall can be reached from the village square in Murg in a 30-minute hike along the signposted chestnut trail. For water fans, the direct route via the Murgbach gorge just a few minutes from the train station is worthwhile, where glacier mills can be admired.
